Take That’s Mark Owen has admitted that he cheated on wife Emma, during a series of flings with other women, while they were dating.
Oh, Mark. Why? ![]()
The singer apparently broke the news to his wife yesterday in an attempt to wipe the slate clean.
Speaking to The Sun, Mark said:
“She loves me and I let her down. I’m really sorry.”
Mark claims that many of the flings were just drunken one-night stands, fuelled by his long-term alcohol problem. But one of the affairs, with accounts manage Neva Hanley, lasted 5 years.
When asked how many women he had cheated on Emma with, Mark replied:
“I don’t know how many girls there were in all. Maybe ten.”
Mark, who has two children with Emma (Elwood, 3, and Willow Rose, 1), expressed regret at the mistakes he’s made, saying:
“I have been living with the guilt. It has always been there – you carry it around with you. It held me back in my relationship with Emma. I wouldn’t have done any of this if I had my time again. I am halfway through my life now and this, in a way, is a lesson. You’ve got to learn and that’s what I am going to do.
“Emma is really strong and I know she will do what is right for her and the kids. I support that and I really appreciate that. She loved me – she still does love me – and I have let her down. That’s the truth of it.
“You realise what you have done when you face up to it and the mistakes you have made. And I have really let her down. Friends, everybody. I feel like I have let everyone down.”
Mark has revealed that his affair with Neva started when his relationship with Emma was going through a bad patch. He admitted that his behaviour has sometimes been “difficult” and that he was at times “not very nice to live with”.
The singer has confessed to meeting up with Neva for regular romps, the latest of which was last September – just weeks before he married Emma.
“After that last meeting I realised I had to try to sort my life out. I had to change the person I was. The wedding for me was a new slate and a new start.
“In my head there was never a time when I was doubting getting married.
“It was a chance for me to put it all behind me and not make the mistakes I had made in the past.”
What do you think? Can their marriage survive ten flings?
Does Mark deserve a 2nd.. 3rd, 4th chance??
